If English is your first language and you want to go for something easy then I suggest Haitian Kreyol

1 English has a lot of similar words to French and so does Kreyol

2 Unlike French Kreyol does not have linguistic gender

I am not claiming to know Kreyol will but I find the Kreyol language lessons the easiest of all the languages I have tried on Duolingo so far and think I have tried some of every genderless language except Japanese I could find for English speakers to learn on Duolingo
