Xeraser 🇮🇹 (moved to @xeraser@varishangout.net) (npub1zr9…uu4j) problem is that Steam is a monopoly only because it provides a better service than the others.
The only other store that arguably provides a better service than Steam, IMO, is GOG, mostly because they provide you with DRM-free games, and that's reason enough to support them, but still their client experience for buying games is subpar compared to Steam, and Steam invested in Linux integration so the vast majority of the games "just work", while in GOG you have to manually set things up to use Proton.
