14mission on Nostr: Opened up the back of the #Duaflex, and saw film, *without* the backing paper. Yeah, ...

Opened up the back of the #Duaflex, and saw film, *without* the backing paper. Yeah, by trying to run through a roll backwards, I got the film separated from the backing and jammed.
Well, a now-ruined roll of film was a chance to experiment. So I put it back on the #120film roll, and trimmed and sanded the ends of the roll (they need to have a smaller diameter and a thinner profile)--basically converting the 120 spool into a faux 620 one; loaded that up and ran it through. Things went smooth enough I decided to do it again with a fresh roll of film and use it for the weekend's pictures.
The sanding takes a while, but overall, not too painful a process.
Sanding first, before trimming the rims, hopefully reduces the chance for sanded plastic dust to work its way into the film.
I might have trimmed the rims a little too much, possibly producing some light leaks on the first frame or two, but hopefully no big deal.
