One thing that I did in a earlyish phase was doing "Four-Word Stories" where I got four words at random (and later, assigned by others as challenges) and just wrote a short thing based on them. Some of them were crap, but some have stuck with me. This or other daily writing exercises (which are legion) can be good if you're just trying to build up writing muscles.
I did also take part in NaNoWriMo (RIP) which taught me something about how to write regularly and produce a longer work.
Some people like writing in an environment where that's all you can do, like on paper or on a computer that can't do games or social media.
I've also found it surprisingly easy to write in company with others, IRL or on Zoom.
