Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about #Fediverse - based #streaming yesterday! I then went and watched some of npub16t330d3v8yr65cvhwtj84pjkp0cyd7rdd9tel0eyqtw6k0jfnqlsuwd5sq (npub16t3…d5sq) 's stream, which encouraged me to think about an #Owncast installation of my own.
I currently use Gandi.net for some basic Wordpress and wiki hosting, but I am not sure if it is sufficient for streaming or hosting an Owncast installation. What do I need to watch out for in terms of requirements?
As far as I have seen from my own example, you can host some archived videos on your own Owlcast instance before you have to move it to an archive. I would like to know: How much storage space does, say, 1 hour of high quality video game streaming require?
Which brings me to archive hosting. I _will_ host a YouTube archive (I figure that this is as good as any way to redirect people to the Fediverse, by mentioning it there as often as possible), but are there ny #PeerTube instances suitable for hosting streaming archives?
