It is interesting... I have a part in my story where my MC explains why he doesn't think the minor antagonist has done a certain thing. He says he "understands" how his screwed up belief system works and it seems that in English this indicates compassion with it, what I never intended to say. In my language, I can "understand" a system, machine, political agenda without being in any way in favor of it. Did similar things happen to you?🤔
