I think Linux has great significance as a desktop.

At my school, many students don't have a PC at home.

Many use iPads, but a very large proportion use refurbished laptops with Linux as the operating system.

The school laptops that I can lend to students have been upgraded from Windows 10 to Linux Mint.

So there is a bit of hope :)
