this is very cool, i've thought about the idea of making a similar thing built on top of a source routed onion relay network protocol, it was trivial to add the ability to enable making a lightning payment to a router and from that creating a pair of keys that are used to encrypt messages https://github.com/indra-labs/indra was the work i did towards that, mainly it just has the accounting system for micro-accounts that use lightning preimages as a way of identifying and encrypting to a client directly as part of the payment process
