Apollo 13 didn't land but it did loop around the Moon and return to Earth safely after a very serious spacecraft accident, an exploding fuel cell. It is amazing that they were saved from such a devastating situation, a real testament to the skill and bravery of all concerned. As they flew around the Moon they took some images from the windows. This map shows the area covered by medium resolution images, all on the far side, and a broad area seen in distant images. #maps #moon #Apollo (1/2)
