#Movies, lightning reviews:
The Alien franchise:
Alien (1): The original horror in space. Terrifying, claustrophobic, trail-blazing. 5/5
Aliens (2): Gunnery-heavy action meets the Alien horror, with some great actors thrown in. A very worthy successor. 5/5
Alien III (3): The claustrophobic Alien menace in space changes scenery to a hostile planet surface, in more than one sense. Worthy, but with caveats. 4/5
Alien IV (4): Aliens are back in space, this time is a somewhat dark comedic setting. Great actors, but the Aliens concept with a comedic twist added doesn't work well. Made some heavy speculative jumps to the story. 3/5
Alien vs Predator (AvP): Aliens...on Earth?! Again, gun heavy action, beautiful scenery, but with deeply implausible twists, even for a Sci-Fi horror. 3/5
AvP 2: Same as AvP, this time in the USA. Both shock and horror and lots of firepower, but it does nothing of it well. Disappointing and forgettable. 2/5
(Alien) Prometheus (5): A semi-prequel, telling a story of Alien before Alien; with characters that are as low IQ as the technology they operate us high tech. Tries to be sophisticated but ends up being implausible and abortive carbok gopy of Alien (1). 2/5
(Alien) Covenant (6) : A sequel to Prometheus. Seemingly a carbon copy of Aliens (2), but with characters more imbecilic than the predecessor. Uninspred script with incomprehensible mumbo jumbo rationale. Deeply disappointing. Ridley Scott should have retired early. 1/5
