I think for me, ecash and the various developments around it, ecash, enuts and all the nother flavours.
Why?
Offline payments.
I think this is going to give sound money to the 2.6 billion without Internet access. Being able to print out paper money exchange it for goods or services and then going along to your local exchange (literally anyone with a smartphone) and exchanging it for fiat or goods is possibly the most important development yet IMHO.
