How smart OG's have kept their coin:
- Ignore people making price predictions
- Laugh at TA charts
- Every price prediction model will be destroyed
- It's not about getting rich fast, it's about not getting poor slowly (USD dilution inevitability)
- Don't make leveraged bets
- Don't bet against bitcoin
- Self custody, treat your bitcoin like it's worth 100x what you paid as it will be on a long enough timescale
Short story: I sold a company in 2013 - did pretty well. That company has probably since double/tripled its revenues and is easily worth 2-4x what it was when i sold it (probably more as sole ownership has more discretion to shop VC's).
Guess who won? Me. I invested almost 100% of the proceeds i didn't need to live into bitcoin and i'm up way more then 2-3x.
I have since started a new company in 2018 and I only slightly regret the capital outflow required to start (low 6 figs). That 2018 seed money is now probably worth closer to 1mm if i would have invested it into bitcoin. Although i'm slightly glad as my business after 4 years of making zero money is finally able to almost 100% sustain my families lifestyle from business revenues.
Bitcoin has radically transformed my life but only because i maintained a relative low time preference and didn't listen to the bears or bull-tards. And a word to the wise the bull-tards are far more dangerous then the bears. They incentivize degen behavior and make people wreckless in hopes of quick riches. Bears help fortify your convictions and are in for the long haul because they understand how the game works. Bull-tards will pump normies full of ridiculous expectations and then people will rage-quit when expectations fall short because timing short term moves in markets is impossible.
tl;dr gm. 🙃
