Stories
It was a story. A story was what I truly wanted. All this time day dreaming away and not realising it was dreaming I was doing. Every love song, every sappy romance, every time I felt deeply emotionally moved or in the moment I realised, I was caught up in the story. In the feeling I was being sold and all this chalking it up to familiarity, time passing, getting used to each other, newness wearing off was all just part of the story. I wanted the promise of the story. I wanted that ultimate top of the world, content in the moment feeling. Not really a different person or even a different place. I just wanted the story. I wanted the story to be mine. But stories exist to fill in the gaps that reality leaves. The story provides an escape. If you let it fool you, you become susceptible to becoming lost inside it before you can even separate yourself from the false reality. From the story. We have a tendency to pull others into the story with us. It takes a while to separate yourself sometimes but the ability to do so can be profound.
