ericfj on Nostr: For those who are working to get more capital into the Nostr ecosystem from investors ...
For those who are working to get more capital into the Nostr ecosystem from investors previously NOT familiar with the protocol, here’s a short script that seems to have gotten me beyond the introduction:
“I’m super bullish on Nostr because there’s a strong grassroots community of developers constantly shipping open source tools- and it’s super simple to make functional apps with for beginners- which is attracting excited talent. Because everyone shares the pool of users that anyone else brings in, the protocol has “network effects^2” if it gets beyond some critical mass. All it takes is one random simple app to go viral, then ALL builders in the space get more users (the example I constantly think of here is Wordle… one dev brought tons of accounts to NYT). For that reason mainly, Nostr is where I’ve been putting almost all my extra time, capital and mental energy by building in the space. It’s still a risky bet, but I see it with huge upside due to the fact that the protocol tools you get out-of-the-box could eat everything using SSO, social features, chat, identity management, etc.”
From here, might be important to acknowledge that it’s actually HARD to make really good apps (which is likely why you’re sourcing outside capital), but it depends who you’re talking to and where the conversation goes. You will need to defend the viability of your revenue in your specific case.
I plan to share more of these tidbits to the community as I dive in here. Hope this is useful.
