In browsers yes, in design tools not so much. Many design editors like Figma ignore the format completely. You can't import a webp, you can't export as webp.
Many libraries don't support it well. Opengraph doesn't support it. Gmail converts webp to jpg in email (which breaks animations and transparency), etc. etc.
This format isn't well supported by the industry yet, that was my point :)
