If there's one good thing that wokeness did, it was decrease sexism in media a little. Then again, I think it was actually pre-woke feminism that achieved that.
I think the woke kind took over around the time of GamerGate, where it seemed like there was a good discussion going about objectification etc. in media, but then woke shit took over. Liberal coomers wanted to appear feminist but still stick to their coomer ways so they came up with shit like "don't kink shame me" and whatnot.
Actually when I think about it, I guess this is just a rehashing of the "feminist sex wars" of the 70s and 80s or something. Every time feminists start complaining about sexism in media, pornography, etc., the powers that be come up with some utter bullshit to divert everyone away from it and convince people to support porn and objectification after all.
And thus we got into this schizophrenic situation in the past 10 years where on one hand video game studios are trying to create more diverse female characters (sometimes just making them plain ugly as a result, though the claims of ugliness are usually ridiculously exaggerated) but then the same people turn around and defend prostitution as "sex work" and say OnlyFans means women are being "empowered."
