We posted an ad for a paid software engineering intern position at 19:00 last Wednesday. By 08:30 Friday we had 340 applications; as of 10:00 today (Sunday) we have over 650. Only a few are spam; over a third already have bachelor's or master's degrees, and some of those appear to have been looking for a year and a half. I've gone through about half of them so far, and I haven't felt this sad in a while: I just don't know where they're all going to go or what's going to happen for them.
