well, i think i made clear what i would like to happen and to monopolize it in the hands of the state would probably be disastrous, even the enforcement of that alone would destroy many livelyhoods and require massive censorship of research, tools and educational materials.

as for "AI being unethical" there is numerous different claims, but from what i've sen they are either nonsense or are really about the institutional structures and incentives being bad.
