In light of how politically charged the atmosphere has been in our country over the past few weeks, I wanted to take a moment to remind folks (especially friends around my age) that Bitcoin is a technology that doesn’t claim, endorse, or uplift one specific political party. When I speak to people about their concerns about the demographic typically associated with Bitcoin, my response has been that Bitcoin is not just a group young white conservative men. While the far right is very good at being very loud in this community, 50 million people own Bitcoin, and Bitcoin owners are just as politically diverse as our country, most being very neutral. This report does an excellent job of illustrating just that. This is such an opportune moment for this study to come out, considering that most of the speakers at this week’s conference lean to the right/far right, and this data just reinforces my point - the small group does not always represent the majority. In closing your honor, there is a small group of bitcoin owners that make this community out to be more polarizing than it should be, and the list of speakers and panels are more diverse than you might think at first glance, including panels on the music industry and women in Bitcoin. I hope that together we can change the messages around Bitcoin, and make it a truly bipartisan issue focused on the technology and its inherent ability to change lives. ✨🫶🏻

Brilliant report from thetrocro (npub1n3s…te5l) and co from The Nakamoto Project on #Bitcoin ownership and key demographic research.

Bitcoin ownership isn’t strictly the libertarian fever dream you may think it is! 😉
