The reason why calling someone a commie in the US doesn't hit as hard as calling someone a Nazi? It's because commies never seem to be as scary as nazis... I mean, I only think of the TV show from the 70s or 80s called The Young Ones and I am like, "commies in America are effete squishy academic jellyfish with trustfunds..."
