Every time I encounter a piece of design that doesn’t work right with my body — cross-body seatbelts that saw into my neck on the lowest adjustment, for instance — I remember that I am TWO INCHES over the average height for women in the U.S. (5’4” per the CDC’s last report in 2018.) People shorter than me — of all ages and genders — are being even worse served for comfort, ease, and safety than I am!
