I can’t do a good football analogy unfortunately but from my understanding, ecash is most comparable to physical cash in use case. It is stored on your physical phone just like cash in your wallet, which means if you lose it there is no backup. You can use it offline and give it to another person through QR or by copying and pasting the transaction. Ecash transactions are completely private, but there is potential to leak data when you transfer out over lightning just like if you were to deposit cash to a bank. Also, just like you wouldn’t keep your life savings in your back pocket, you want to limit the amount you store in Ecash but it is a very convenient, private way to interact with BTC.
