Of course you can tell I'm an old fart because I don't feel the need to put `.txt' at the end of filenames.

I really should encourage myself to use $(...) instead of `...`, though, for the cleaner nesting.

It's funny how many conventions and habits have changed over the decades, how few of them are worth the bother, but how a very few are big steps forward. My favourite in the shell is ! for not.
