I used to hold it. Then I realized that when we do that, the most aggressive, least-principled faction will generally win the arguments. Merit won't enter into it.
So, I guess, my experience vs yours.🤷
(Also, those aren't secret terms. Their meaning is commonly understood. Some going back a long ways - e.g. "Gish-galloping" dates to the 70s at least.)
