and that's an interesting case of... who cares if you can see outside the station? You can't see the OTHER END of the station (even if it were open end to end).
(there are observation lounges that let you see outside to whatever the station is near)
like these are big enough that there are 'conformance parks' and greenbathing landscaping all over like it's a planetary city.
the small ships the characters use? those have a cockpit with visible windows and holographic sensor projectors.
