Everybody seems to be having a rough time right now, so here's a rough mix from this evening's session of Kat messing around with music gear.
It's just three minutes of the one mellow little groove, where each track was the first take that wasn't outright terrible. You never know, it might calm the mood. Or the the periodic fluffed notes might spoil it, who knows? It's just a sketch; YOLO.
New for me this evening: playing with faders, bringing one drum machine down while the guitar gets the foreground, then bringing it back up for its turn. A common technique, and 6-ish dB was probably too much, but it's the first time I've actually tried it with serious intent.
Why? Because I tried to EQ them out of each other's way, and that didn't work. Turns out it's fun getting into a rhythm with the faders.
