There’s a few:
- Lack of incentives for running relays might cause the number of them to stagnate, which might end up hurting the overall protocol, affecting reach / visibility, as user numbers spike. This also leads to hyper prominent relays which is the type of centralization we’re all trying to get away from.
- Spam
- Lack of privacy / encryption (I’m not too big on this but lots of folks here are as well as those who might seek this alternative to big tech)
- Diversification of content in order to draw rank and file users and not just crypto/tech fanatics like us 🙂
