and Smalltalk _must_ be like this, in a sense. it can't simply be a small little thing, because then it wouldn't be Smalltalk. it cant be JUST a language, like Objective C (ie C cosplaying as Smalltalk), because the language isn't really the point. to reduce it to a language is to not get Smalltalk
