That ride was madness. I've never ridden in temps over 100, for good reason. Above a certain heat index, riding a motorcycle is like being in a convection oven—having hot air move over your body puts more heat into you than it takes out.
If anything, the gear helped slow that heat transfer—without it, their skin would cook.
