Looked into it a bit more and it's indeed the firwall.

If I disable the firewall, the docker containers can connect to each other and to hots in my local network

If I enable the firewall, they can't anymore 🙃 even though they are all on the same docker network.

So I guess I'll need to figure out what knobs to turn in the firewall settings.
