What part of Labour's plan for growth are proposed staff cuts of 30-40% at the Department for Business & Trade.
Given the DBT both works to encourage exporting & inward investment, two planks of the 'growth plan' its seems at least counter-intuitive to be cutting staff back so radically, or even reckless...
However, cynics might suspect this is to allow the DBT's budget to be spent on external consultants & contractors (who've been whispering in Rachel Reeves' ear).
