Going through the airport, a very well dressed woman commented to me that on her latest trip to Sydney last month, travellers don’t even take laptops out their bag at the scanner, or take shoes off. Then she said “But I am happy to keep doing that here in NZ because crime is completely out of control everywhere”.
I looked at her, waited an extra moment, and said “bloody right. Have you seen all the mid air explosions and hijackings, the runway-tarmac ramraids? Out of control!!!”
She glared.
