This is probably a wish too far, but I'd like to live in a society where, if a rumor began that a group of people had to resort to eating pets, the response would be assistance to meet what must be abject poverty - rather than an assumption of deviance.
But I guess that misses the point? The unstated major racist premise is that the group prefers it?
