While I love to see folks take their first step into entrepreneurship (especially in manufacturing) and the pain that Levi's attempting to solve is real, I'm not thrilled with the way this crowdfunding is set up. The upside for funders is skimpy. For example, a $500 donation for a possible $600 discount is all risk for almost no reward. Investing before a prototype is demonstrated and on a single person with no track record is a big ask. The rewards should reflect that.
