Astro is a varied field. People have very specific wants for their kit. Not something I would suggest making a purchase on behalf of someone else.

For example, maybe buying totally separate camera gear is not even necessary. There's a thing called Digiscoping where you attach your phone or camera to your existing telescope and the results can be quite marvelous.

So it might be best to chat with your friend and just say, "what can we buy you?"
