Yes, renewable energy is amazing 🤘🏻 but it is just adding on top of existing fossil fuel use to serve our increasing overall consumption ⚫️
Fossil fuel use went from 81.9% of the global energy mix in 2022 to 81.5% in 2023 - i.e. nothing changed. And global primary energy consumption increased 2%.
