I think the median republican really doesn't probably keep too much up with party politics. they might still be anti-abortion a little bit, or a quite religious etc, but most just thinking they're the 'working class' party.
But it seems even as figurehead Trump's gone much further right, even with the people who surround him. He's now publicly said vaccines may cause Autism, he's been 'states rights' on Abortion, etc. I can't imagine a republican even just 15 years ago saying this stuff.
