I'd have to rush across my greatroom+dining room from my office which seems less tenable than just popping out with my scorpion ready to rock.
Ranch style houses make for a lot of ingress points for home invasion/zombie apocalypse events. Don't think things are quite serious enough to add bars in my neighborhood just yet but I should put a solid door up and some decorative ones on the windows next to it someday.
