So until this, I didn't understand that the caravans traveling the wilderness was settlers relocating from the east coast to the west coast.
I always imagined that all of US was built around the same time.
Now all the caravans on the prairie in all those movies makes perfect sense. They were heading west. Uncharted territory. Rural area.
