I’m in the last stages of production for my latest #Arcana and I have the pleasure to be working with two amazing fabricators, @glasmalereipeters and @visolighting
For the last two years, I have engaged in the research, design, and now fabrication of my latest public art project, Arcana, for the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building at the University of Washington, in collaboration with the WA State Arts Commission. @artswapublicart
This project entails the creation of a captivating and whimsical wall using vibrant, colorful glass elements that interact harmoniously with metal silhouettes, resulting in a dynamic stage-like environment.
Drawing inspiration from Oskar Schlemmer’s iconic Triadic Ballet from the Bauhaus era, the design incorporates elements of geometry and historical engineering tools.
This artwork envelops the walls, aiming to instill a sense of belonging and inspiration among students, making them feel truly at home in this unique space. Visible from the outside, the piece functions like a stage, creating a visual dynamic as students interact with it.
The project will be installed in early spring 2025. #monikabravoarchive2024
