SovereignPreneur Reflection Moment:
For 6+ months now, we've been throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to build a business in El Salvador.
Turns out we've been building several...
We just didn't realize it.
Putting the pieces together has been a lot of fun, because the most everything had already been built... we just had to discover where they all connected.
From retreats to online communities to media production and content creation, we are finally launching a MACHINE that I've been dreaming of building for almost 2 years now.
Here is what our early stack looks like:
• Wordpress for webpages (self-hosted)
• Kit for emails
• Zapier for automations
• BTCPayServer for Bitcoin payments (self-hosted)
• SamCart for fiat payments
• Skool for community & courses
• Senja for testimonials
As you can see, we're almost fully reliant on third party services.
Once this is all up & running, we intend to phase out each third party app and use an open-source alternative for each one instead.
So far here's all I've got:
• Mautic to replace Kit
• n8n to replace Zapier
I don't intend to handle credit card payments on our own, and thus far I've never even heard of a FOSS testimonial app.
Meanwhile, if anyone's got any tips for self-hosting a dynamic information community, I'm all ears...
Discourse and nodeBB fall a little flat,
HumHub is too Web 2.0
and Mastadon seems to not worth it in the age of NOSTR.
Does anyone know--are there any tools out there for creating a private group/community using NOSTR?
If anyone would like to work on something like that, send me a DM.
This has been another SovereignPreneur reflection moment.
