A new RFC that I have co-authored was published today.
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc9539/ RFC 9539, “Unilateral Opportunistic Deployment of Encrypted Recursive-to-Authoritative DNS". That title is probably meaningful to half of the folks who follow me, and gibberish to the rest. In short: there will now be some more automatic encryption on the Internet, but it is not strong encryption because it is not authenticated. But some is better than none.
(This is the 77th RFC I have authored or co-authored.)
