I also use this trick with the soldering iron to melt the brass anchors back into laptops where the anchor has broken out of the plastic.

Usually works, though sometimes the anchor is a bit lower than it used to be and a longer screw is needed. Most of the time the original screw can still be used.

Adding brass M3 threaded inserts to my next AliExpress order, for use with the Z180 build.

Basically you drill a ~4.5mm hole in the plastic, then use a thick soldering iron tip to melt the brass insert into place.
