We’re going through some archives of our late friend Mike Freedman, who used to be our boss at CBS. On one busy news day in 1999, the mostly-retired Walter Cronkite happened to be in the studio and Mike asked him if he’d like to open a #radio newscast. Walter said, “Sure!”

After the cast, calls poured in with people asking if Walter had come back. One guy said he drove off the road when he heard Walter.

Quite a day.
