As one who didn't do this, I really recommend that you sit down with your folks and talk about what life was growing up for them. Talk about what it was like before they got married. The things they did. Talk about what it was like when they were married before you came along. Find out all about how they met each other. And fell in love.

Once they're gone, you can't do that. I found that out.
