Mastodon isn't Twitter/X. There is absolutely zero reason to engage in pointless arguments, especially with people who are constantly telling you that you're wrong while refusing to hear what other people have to say.
Mute them. Block them. Report them if needed. Better yet, give them your blessings and move on to things that make you happy.
