[03/03] To deny someone the right to define their gender is to deny them their humanity. It's to say that their feelings, experiences, and sense of self are invalid. This kind of thinking has no place in a just and equitable society. We must move beyond reductive and essentialist notions of gender, recognize that gender identity is a personal and deeply held aspect of selfhood, and respect everyone's right to live their truth authentically and without fear of judgment or invalidation.
