It was a traumatic experience, and I was in a really bad place for a while. One phase of that was deciding I needed to replace every book and make it just like it was before.
Then my wife, for Christmas, gave me a rubber stamp with “Ex Libris” and my name. It helped me realize I needed to build a new collection rather than pretend the disaster hadn’t happened. Got me much healthier.
