I'm not going to begin to argue about why Pope Francis' has made this decision, but if he's wrong, it's almost certainly out of imprudence, not evil.
Lastly, if our Lord really wanted us to leave the church, He'd have made it much clearer than an out-of-context verse of Revelation that most likely actually refers to pagan Rome.
I urge you, brother, pray about this, trust that the Lord will not abandon His bride, and remain in the church.
