Adam Curtis is a great film maker. But he can over simplify. And there's always, what's known as a "propaganda payload". Which is a hidden message that they want to be installed in your mind, and in some cases, nevous system. There are full manuals on this, that most journos, editors and copywriters are given. Journalism 101 used to be who/what/why/where/when ... but now it's about pulling emotional strings and delivering coded messages.
